Dr. Stephen M. Lojeski practiced General Dentistry for over 42 years as the owner of Arcadia Family Dentistry in Arcadia, California. He has been affiliated with Forensic Dentistry pursuits for many years. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and obtained his Diplomate Status in the American Board of Forensic Odontology in 2009. Dr. Lojeski was a longtime member of the L.A. County Coroner’s Forensic Dental Team under Gerald Vale, D.D.S. He currently is a Forensic Odontology Consultant for the Los Angeles County Medical
Examiner, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff/Coroner. In addition Dr. Lojeski is the Chief Forensic Odontologist for the Orange County Sheriff/Coroner and the Riverside County Sheriff/Coroner in California and the Mojave County Medical Examiner's Office in Arizona. He also is an active member of the California Forensic Dental Identification Team (CALDIT). In addition he is a member of the DMORT IX Federal Disaster Response Team. He has served in several mass disasters such as the Cerritos Air Disaster, Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, the Lahaina Maui Wildfire, and the American Samoa Tsunami. For his deployment to the Morgue Operations following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, he was a recipient of a Distinguished Service Award presented by the California Legislature.
In addition to Forensic pursuits, Dr. Lojeski is very active in Organized Dentistry having served as President of the 1,100+ member San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, President of the Dental Foundation of California, and has been an elected Delegate to the California and American Dental Associations House of Delegates for many years. He served two terms as an elected Trustee of the California Dental Association. In addition he is kept very busy as an expert witness for the California Dental Board and as a regional Consultant for Delta Dental of California, Medical Management Online in Washington State, and Dental Works USA of Florida. He has many years of Peer Review experience and has testified many times in court room proceedings. He is a regular lecturer and speaker on various Dental topics. Dr. Lojeski has also had experience in teaching. He taught in a Dental Assisting Program for 21 years and currently teaches Forensic Odontology to Resident Pathology Fellows, Medical students, and California Death Investigators. Dr. Lojeski holds licenses to practice Dentistry in both California and Arizona.
Dr. Lojeski is also licensed by the State of California as a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME). Dr. Lojeski is a Distinguished Past President of the Arcadia Kiwanis Club. He is married, has two grown children, two grandchildren, and lives in Upland, California. His hobbies are fishing, tennis, participation in all sports activities, cheering on his beloved USC Trojans, and the restoration of antique coin operated devices like antique slot machines and antique juke boxes.
