Dr. Phyllis Ho owns and maintains a practice in General Dentistry in New York City. She received an A.B. from Cornell University in 1983 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1988. Dr. Ho achieved a certificate from the Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry from NYUCD and completed an externship at the Prince Philip Dental Hospital in Hong Kong, both in 1989. While at NYU, she was a recipient of the University’s Chancellor Award for Community Service and later, an American Dental Association recognition for Volunteer Service, in Ghana. Dr. Ho has also rendered dental care as a volunteer in Vietnam and Ecuador. A member of the Disaster and Mortuary Operations Response Team (DMORT) since 2000, she has responded to the WTC ll in 2001, Hurricanes Katrina (2005) and Maria(2017). She is a forensic dental consultant in the Office of the Medical Examiner of Suffolk County, a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, serves on the Board of Governors for the American Society of Forensic Odontology, is the immediate Past President of the New York Society of Forensic Dentistry and has been an Education Officer for the Suffolk Society of Forensic Dentistry. She has been a reviewing member of the National Dental Image Repository/CJIS-Leo since its inception and was recognized for this work with an FBI Assistant Director’s Award for Exceptional Public Service. She is the current Secretary of the Association of Forensic Odontology for Human Rights, an International group of Forensic Odontologists and related specialists and a member of the Interpol DVI Odontology Sub-Working Group. She also is a voting member of the ADA SCDI Working Group 10.12 on Dental Informatics.
